Beef Steak with Garlic and Rosemary
Ingredients
1 – 1 ½ teaspoons jarred minced garlic depending on taste
¼ cup minced fresh rosemary leaves
1 tablespoon of good olive oil
1-pound hanger steak or flank steak butterflied about ½ inch thick
Freshly ground pepper
Salt to taste
Fresh lemon wedges for garnish
Directions
In a small bowl mix the garlic and rosemary together and set aside. Lightly coat steak with oil. Season both sides with pepper.
Heat a dry cast iron or heavy bottom skillet for an about 1 minute over high heat. When skillet is very hot, sear the steak quickly on both sides, 1-2 minutes each side. Remove steak to platter pour any juices from the pan over the meat. Season with salt sprinkle garlic and rosemary over meat and cover with foil. Let meat rest 5 minutes before serving. Just before serving add a few drops of lemon juice over steak and serve garnished with lemon wedges.
